Low levels of smoke are forecasted to ebb and flow through central Saskatchewan over the next 72 hours.

  • Source: Wildfires burning East and West of Prince Albert.
  • Impact Area: Shoal Lake and Red Earth areas may experience low levels of smoke originating from a fire south of those communities.

Health Recommendations & Actions

The Northern Inter-Tribal Health Authority and environmental models carry the following recommendations for the next 72 hours:

  • Sensitive Individuals: If you are sensitive to smoke, please remain indoors during periods of higher smoke levels.
  • Symptom Monitoring: Monitor yourself closely for worsening symptoms such as coughing or shortness of breath. If symptoms develop, seek advice from your health care professional.
  • Evacuations: Current models do not support large-group evacuations due to smoke alone.

Protective Steps: Individuals may be recommended by their healthcare provider to utilize home air purifiers (HEPA) or to seek temporary reprieve in designated local fresh-air shelters if indoor air quality becomes compromised.
