TB Nurse

Overview:
Provides case management for tuberculosis, including DOT, contact tracing, and community education. TB Nurses identify risk, coordinate testing and treatment adherence, and support prevention education to reduce transmission.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage TB cases and treatment adherence (DOT).
- Conduct contact investigations and symptom screening.
- Coordinate lab testing and follow‑up.
- Provide culturally safe education to clients and families.
Prerequisites:
- Grade 12 diploma — Regular Grade 12, Adult 12, or GED.

Education & Qualifications:
- RN/LPN (per program requirements); TB training an asset.
- Case management, documentation, rapport‑building skills.
Admission Requirements (Pathway Notes):
- Not typically direct from high school unless admitted to SCBScN; begin with Arts and Science or Nursing Readiness Certificate.
Required High School Classes:
- Foundations of Mathematics 30 or Pre‑Calculus 30; Science 20/30; Social Science & Language 20/30.
- Note on admission vs. degree requirements (e.g., Chemistry 30 for first‑year chemistry).
Required Grade Average:
- Minimum admission average: 70%.
Mature Admission:
- Proof of age (21+), written submission, transcripts, <18 transferable credit units, résumé, English proficiency.
