Overview

Provides culturally safe counselling and therapy for individuals, families, and groups. Mental Health Therapists support clients with emotional, psychological, and behavioural challenges using evidence‑based approaches such as CBT, trauma‑informed therapies, and strengths‑based counselling. They collaborate with doctors, social workers, and community supports to facilitate holistic healing and improved mental well‑being.

What You’ll Do

  • Conduct intake, assessment, and care planning.
  • Provide trauma‑informed, evidence‑based therapies.
  • Coordinate with community supports and health providers.
  • Support crisis intervention, stabilization, and safety planning.

Prerequisites

  • Grade 12 diploma (Regular, Adult 12, or GED).
  • Cannot begin directly from high school — must begin in the College of Arts and Science.
