IT Help Desk Technician
Primary Pathway: IT & Informatics
Overview
Provides friendly, timely IT support for devices, applications, and user access. IT Help Desk Technicians troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues, provide user education, and ensure smooth day‑to‑day technical operations in health and community settings.
What You’ll Do
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Manage support tickets and escalate when needed.
- Support employee onboarding and technology setup.
- Track IT assets and maintain documentation.
Prerequisites
- Grade 12 diploma (Regular, Adult 12, or GED).
- Minimum 70% in:
- Foundations of Mathematics 30 or Pre‑Calculus 30
- One of Physics 30, Chemistry 30, or Computer Science 30
- Minimum overall average: 65%
- English language proficiency required.
Mature Admission:
- 21 years or older
- Written statement of readiness
- Transcripts
- Less than 18 credit units of transferable post‑secondary coursework
